If you live with kidney disease and use digital tools—apps, wearables, or patient portals—to help manage your care, your voice can help shape the future of kidney‑care digital health.

The National Kidney Federation is supporting a new UCL study called Understanding Digital Health Engagement in Kidney Care: An Interview Study, which aims to find out how people with kidney disease use these tools, what helps or hinders their use, and how they fit into everyday care.

UCL team of researchers are looking for adults aged 18 or over who have been diagnosed with CKD stages 1–5 and who are able to give informed consent. Taking part involves a short online enrolment survey and a single 30–45‑minute online or phone interview talking about where you get health information, what influences your decisions to start, continue, or stop using digital health tools, and how they affect your kidney‑care routine.

Participants will receive a £15 Amazon voucher as thanks for their time and important insights. The researchers at UCL Health Informatics, led by PhD candidate Irina Osovskaya and Professor Henry Potts, will use your feedback to improve how digital tools are designed, introduced, and used in kidney care.

If you are interested in having your experience counted, follow the details in the NKF newsletter or contact the study team via the information provided.
